Bikeaware was founded in 2010 by David Love. David is co-founder and Chair of the Open Streets Trust, a charity that promotes the use of streets as public space. He is a seasoned business creator, social entrepreneur and active travel campaigner. London's first Open Streets event took place in Southwark on May 30th 2015, neatly captured in this Streetfilms video.
An early advocate of mass participation cycling events modelled on the Cape Town Cycle Tour, he championed the first London Freewheel (later Skyride and now Prudential RideLondon) and for six years was a trustee of the London Cycling Campaign.
He created the Share the Road, 3 Feet Please and Ride 'n' Stride road safety campaigns. He also runs a business that builds data aggregation software.
David lives in London and is a frequent user of the Santander cycle hire scheme. He loves how the sturdy red machines make him feel less like a cyclist, more just a guy on a bike.
